Beatnickbandit, I'm sure there must be much more to tell but we need to respect your wish to keep a low profile and won't be prying any further and can merely rest in the hope that you may wish to impart any further interesting facts/stories in the future.

We're fortunate in having you share those wonderful images and what you've told us so far. Hope that you've found our responses to be amusing too! ;)

It's good to hear the '63 side jack is authentic!

THANK YOU :)

Still trying to maintain that low profile, but thanks for your interest/questions.

I can appreciate someone wanting to run silent and deep, but openness is the purpose of this forum. If folks don't share their information and help keep this forum going, I see no reason to keep paying for a website for to people to view but not share.

There are multiple websites where people can congregate and BS with each other, my purpose for starting this website was to accumulate the most accurate exchange information about Mosrites on the net, period. That requires particiaption. Bob K joined, posted his wonderful photo's and that was the end of his participation. It really leaves everyone 'hanging' with curiosity and a quest for more information. These are the things I will have to consider when the forum comes up for renewal each year, and we only have one year under our belt. Take it for it's worth, but that's the way I see it.

Hey Beatnikbandit--

Well...you know and the rest of us know there's probably a dozen Ventures models with the flip-up mute, as in 12 guitars, maybe less, so of COURSE that thing was gonna pique our interest!!! ha ha....

No serial #? That is mysterious. Never seen one of those without some sort of serial number. A mystery!

And yeah, you had better prepare yourself for the level of geekiness on this forum....it's way beyond the level of any other guitar forum I've seen! ha ha You can't post pics like yours without the sharks going wild in the bloody water....ha

Of course I am happy to contribute to this site where I can—this site is a great resource. I am just a little sensitive to posting too much personal information publicly. Also, a bit of a closet guitar geek, I guess.

Speaking of which, Deke, what is the story behind the early Ventures with the flip up mute I see you playing on the web? ha ha…..

It's not a secret, and I don't mind telling you, but one I can't post on a public forum. PM me, Beatnik Bandit, and I'll tell you...and all you hungry bears on the list ain't getting any more than that! ha ha.
