This is one cool Hallmark Custom 60. Guitar player is a member of the Toredor's band.

Hey All,
I just wanted to say the 59 Custom and the Hallmark II are finished as far as prototypes and we will have pix soon. Launching the Barris line took more time and energy that we had planned on so the other guitars had to take a back seat. The good news is all of the Wing-Bats have shipped and now we can focus on the Hallmark II's and 59 Customs. Thanks for your patience and Mosriteforever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Guys, remember the other Paul on the forum who is also from Holland and who’s screen name (pauliventura) has similarities to mine (Veenture)?
Well, yesterday I paid him a visit, upon his invitation as he has most generously offered to help me add to my Ventures cd collection, in response to my ad on the forum. It turns out he lives only about an hour’s drive away from me, which is nice.

Naturally we talked a lot about those subjects we have in common (starting with Mosrites, of course) and he showed me some fine guitars from his superb collection (Mosrite, Aria’s and even more other beauties  )…and yes, I went through an emotional moment when he put a genuine Mosrite into my hands for me to see and play…(gulp)… It was the very first time for me to be actually holding and playing a real Mosrite guitar! …a wonderful aged pearl-white side jack Ventures model, exuding fine craftsmanship and full of character!

OK, I got to the point of strumming one or two chords but it sounded to me that it needed some tuning first but…(heh, heh)…things were pointing to the small Mosrite neck! How's this? ha, out of pure habit my fingers were spread out ready to play a Fender’s neck and that’s where things went wrong. Paul said it takes some adjustment but that he had adapted quick –no problem. No, the tuning was just fine…it was I who needed tuning.

He was very interested in seeing my Hallmark too and after looking at it and playing it his verdict came out quite positive; "not a Mosrite, mind you" he said, "but an excellent instrument …and for such a fair price, an excellent buy and it plays really nice".

It was a suitable time too to compare the sound of the pups. He was pleasantly surprised at the Hallmark’s strong response. I envied him as he played; boy, can he play well!
The sound of the Mo’ was noticeably brighter (unchanged settings on both the amp and guitar). Having said that, I’m still very content with the tone of my Hallmark’s pups; such a su..weeet mid position tone, love it!

Yes my host proved to be a true Mosrite fan, a rare breed indeed to find in Holland, very modest too but knowing a great deal about relevant matters. He likes doing guitar projects also and he showed me some fine and interesting things he had done and what he is doing presently but I feel that it is not for me to say.

I feel particularly honoured that it has been through him, a fellow countryman, that I got to hold and behold a genuine Mosrite guitar for the very first time!

It has been a special day for me, thank you 'other Paul' and also -last but not least- the Mosrite Forum!

Paul

Great report, and glad you guy's linked up. BTW, our records do not show a 'Ventura' registered on this forum.

Through the years I owned & played several Mosrite guitars and 1 V-bass...only one's still here : a pearl-white / set neck / side jack Ventures Model....one of the last ones from Boonesville...I guess....but we'll find out soon !
I'll make some pics and show it to you guys.

Greetings from the Netherlands !

...and I explained to him about posting pics on the forum... :|
