That would be a real gas and with both bands together at the same mega gig :o :D :D

BTW wstagner, I've been listening to your band backing Nokie...excellent stuff! My compliments.

Thanks for the compliments.

Whenever Nokie plays w/us, we "make" him play stuff neither he nor the Ventures ever play live or have rarely played live. Those Nashville guys he records with are a little too slick for my taste.

Vens/Shads will NEVER share a stage, sad to say. Nokie knows Bruce Welch and I've tried to encourage him to arrange a gig or 2 w/Bruces's Shads. That too will never happen.

Ver underrated Band :!: I have a 1963 Fender Stratocaster in Fiesta Red Because of Hank Marvin :!: I don't play it as much in recent years because they have become so ridicuosly expensive :!: My band The Thunderheads cover "Apache" and "The Savage".

Walt is right, the two bands will never "get together".
I count myself lucky that I was there when the Shads & Cliff performed in Johannesburg in 1961 -I had just left school!
I got to see Hank Marvin perform in The Hague in 2000 which was very nice but I did not feel the excitement I had anticipated.
I was there when Nokie played at the Sunhouse in Amsterdam with AdVenture in 2002. Absolutely f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s.
(spoke to Nokie afterwards, thanking him for his music, shook his hand and got his autograph too! He is such a modest person).
Had a little chat with Jet Harris after he 'performed' together with The Rapiers in Holland in 2006 and shook his hand too. I think it was his daughter selling cd’s after the show… :o

Enjoyed the Shadows' "Final Tour" performance in Amsterdam which was excellent but the magic of 1961 was long since gone.

Somehow not having ever met Hank Marvin helps keep the myth alive about the guitar god that he is to me; after all, he was my first guitar hero! Later when I heard the Ventures….I became hooked for life too.

In the early days of Rock & Roll I loved those rockin' guitar players on Rick Nelson’s records and only learned much later that it was the likes of Joe Maphis and James Burton! And it was Scotty Moore that grabbed my attention with him playing on Elvis’ records –like the Sun recordings.

Billy, here’s "The Savage" for you with me playing on four strings for a change  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0iKnnu- ... re=related
