The Sunburst...

Talk about the German carve on a Mosrite...there's the German flag too...well, with a little bit of imagination ;)
It has just occured to me that the Sunburst finish is actualy done in the same colours as those appearing in the German flag; even the bands are in the same sequence; black, red, yellow :|

Put a big white M in the middle of that flag and we'll use it for the official forum colors!!!! :lol:

I'll add a Amen! I was just discussing this color pattern with Dana Moseley. It always said Semie to me.

When did Semie start doing his 3-tone bursts? Seems like the original Joe Maphis doubleneck had a nice burst finish, and that was what, mid-'50's? Fender didn't start doing 3-tone bursts until '58 or so--I guess Semie's predates them by a couple of years, and I've always thought that Semie had the best 3-tone bursts around. That's just a classic look--the 3-tone burst with a white pickguard and black pickup covers...
