Adam, Thank you so much for the super cool photos of the Nokie Model.
I've got a couple of '63 Side Sidejacks that I'm building that I haven't painted
yet, I think I'm going to paint one of them that Blueburst sparkle, leave the neck
natural because it has a ton of flame in it, paint the head, pickup covers and pickguard
Blueburst sparkle to match.

I have only 2 questions....

1) Was there a "correct" color for the side jack plate? I have seen black, cream and white,
but mostly black and cream on the early Mo's. Did Semie just mostly use whatever he had
laying around the shop for those pieces?
2) There were Ads on the back of Ventures Song Books with the Mosrite. On one such ad,
it said "you could upgrade to the Roller Bridge for an additional fee." Does that mean that
the '63s only came with the Vibramute Bridge, but most were ordered with the Roller Bridge??

Thanks Danny! Yes I did make that bridge from scratch, I took a flat piece of stainless steel
drilled all the holes, then took my vise-grip metal benders and bent the edges up and polished the fire out of it. It's really just like the most earlest roller bridges found on the Ventures model
with the square corners and all, There's a photo here on the forum of Bob Ks #0039 Ventures model,
check out the bridge.
As for as VibraRite, My wife said it sounded like something you would find in a adult gift shop,
But I think it sounds pretty darn cool on a guitar Vibrato-unit, plus I don't want to offend the folks who have latched on to the trademark Vibramute.

Hey Dennis, I used the solid black plastic for the same reason Uncle Semie did on a few of the originals, it was handy and looks cool too!
I don't think the roller bridge thing was ever a real option, even thought it might be in print.
I think after they used up the 25 or so aluminum vibrato units with the mute bridges(the ones Semie had Billy Gruggett route the Guild logo off of), that was it, none of the roller bridges will exchange on the aluminum units because the bridge post spacing is much wider on the early aluminum ones.
By the way, I'm working on my own home foundry right now, I'm going to be casting out of aluminum exact copies of the '62 Joe Maphis and the early 63 Ventures model Vibramute units with the solid bridges
with the mute, the 62 has no lettering, where the 63 says Vibramute, mine will read
VIBRA-RITE, of course mine really will have the option of a roller bridge. Stay tuned for updates on this Project.

Regarding the jack plate material and color, the one in the parts I acquired is very thin 3 ply blk/wht/blk.
