Semie holding an Epiphone? Isn't that Virgie standing in the back and Reverend Ray Boatright in that middle photo?

Interesting pictures Adam. Notice in the middle photo how Semie is holding his instrument! Not in a casual manner at all but in a very caring way, really. To me it clearly shows his love of instruments :)

On my computer screen I can zoom in or -out (up to 400%). Check if you have that feature on yours (bottom righthand corner where it already might say "100%") :?

Hey Adam!

Where'd you find that last batch of photos? Amazing!

The Encino bowl is only a few minutes from my house. I might have to go there (and wear a red shirt unbuttoned like Semie) to relive the magic of the 1979 Grant Classic. (ha)

Seriously, though, the early pic with Semie holding the Epiphone is amazing! If you look at how long Semie's arms are from his elbow to his hands, it's kind of freaky. Look at the photo again and see what I mean.

And I can't see where that newspaper article is from, is that another Bakersfield Californian article? Looks like probably '66 or '67?
