Fender Jaguar modified by Semie Moseley?

Postby Sarah93003 » Wed Jul 14, 2010 6:45 am

Well this is an interesting read but I don't know how much truth is there. I thought I read on the forum somewhere that Semie hated Fender so why would he put his pickups on one? Also, they say he changed out the bridge to some other brand that resembles a Tune-O-Matic. Why would he do that. And, I have never seen him use a non-Mosrite bridge on a Celebrity or any other Mosrite guitar that was production made.

The seller states that this guitar was modified immediately after purchase by Semie Moseley in 1965.

For some reason I think that Semie had a lot more important things to do than to play with modifying a Fender Jaguar in 1965. Maybe whoever has been selling this store these guitars has a few stories to go with the guitars that have been embellished through the years.

who knows, there was that old epiphone that semie did some custom work too, but I think this was in the 50's, just as a guess, I would think by 65 he would have been too busy, but maybe this would have been a paycheck for semie during rough times after mosrite's hayday. Of course I'm just guessing here.....
Then again it could just be a Jaguar, that any repairmen threw in some mosrites parts...

Towards the end of the list of photos there are pictures of the routing under the pickguard. No way that was done by a professional, let alone Semie. Interesting idea thought and I bet it sounds pretty good.

I can not believe that this was doene by semie. he would have done more then just putting these pups in. Why go to semie for just swiching pick-ups? And looking at the re-routed body and stuf I don't think so.

I believe that if semie has done this he would have left a mark or something on the guitar and that it was done better then this is.

Those Shaller bridges were not available until 72 or 73.
