I got a price on a new Gospel

Postby IndianScout » Thu Apr 05, 2012 11:11 am

I called Ed Roman's store who personally I really don't want to deal with but I got a price for a new Gospel for $1995

I just wanted to know if this was a decent offer or if I need to call back and work them a bit..

thanks

Steve

You may want to call Bob Shade with Hallmark and get a price from him for a Hallmark Gospel. Bob states he owns the trademark for the Gospel so he should be able to help you. You will get a better price and a great guitar. He can also do modifications to design you may desire. He is a great guy to deal with and will bend over backwards to make sure you're happy with his product. Go to the many threads about the Hallmark guitar and you will see the members of the forum that have Hallmarks love their Hallmark Guitars. Good Luck!

Thank you Mosdan! Your comments are sincerely appreciated.

I would like to point out a couple of things about the Gospel models offered today.

First, Hallmark is the owner of the Gospel guitar brand and can offer you genuine Gospel products. Anything else is not a genuine Gospel model guitar. You can see our current Gospel model here, and other colors and options are available.

http://hallmarkguitars.com/guitars/gospel.htm

Secondly, the Gospel model that Kurt Cobain played is not a great guitar, that's why we do not offer that style. Anyone out there who owns a Mark 5 or a later Ventures II knows what I am talking about. It is fine for rhythm, but that's about it.

Like I said, the issue with it is it is very hard to play lead on due to the neck being mounted so deep into the body. If you look at a picture of it you will see what I am getting at. It is nearly impossible to play the higher frets.

I would highly suggest looking at our Hallmark II if you are looking for a cool smaller Mosrite style Ramone/Kobain sounding guitar. It is a much better guitar and you can get to the last fret effortlessly on the Hallmark II and the tone and sustain is awesome. We have them in sunburst and other colors and can even color the headstock black and put the Gospel logo on it for a slight up charge if you like. See all models here http://hallmarkguitars.com/guitars/hallmark-II.htm

The best part about our guitars is you will get an awesome quality and effortless playing guitar with an alligator/ red velvet lined case included for much less jack as we sell direct to the customer.

It would be a pleasure to serve you, so please let me know if you would like to consider one of our Gospel/Hallmark guitars.

Regards, Bob Shade

I mentioned Artie as he seems to have been dropped from the vendors recognition here on the forum. Although he is a regular active member, he doesn't have his own sub forum to push his Mosrite guitars. Everyone always thinks Hallmark or Ed Roman and he gets left out of the loop. I like to spread the "free advertisement" around so everyone gets a fair shake. When IndianScout mentioned he called Ed Roman for a price I automatically assumed he wanted a Mosrite.

Hi Artie,
Could you tell us about the wider neck model? Is it a Mark 1 Ventures model? What are the features?

I ordered 2 '66 guitars with a 12 string width. I wanted to see how these will be.I have had a couple of 12 string necks strung up with 6 and they seemed to be more comfortable. I'll be sure to chime in when Dana brings them by.

Artie, I did the same thing with a Ric 330 I had. I took the six backwards-facing tuners off and plugged the holes with some black plastic plugs from Home Depot. It made a stellar rhythm guitar that way.

Another one I should've kept . . .
