BTW, how does that guitar sound? Always wondered about that model. Some of those old Japanese guitars sound excellent.

It plays great, but the pickups were kinda weak so I installed some Mosrite pickups and the sound is huge!

I remember that Standel guitar ad in Downbeat--always thought that was a cool guitar. I'd go for a Hallmark reissue (maybe with a bit wider neck?) in a heartbeat.
